Learn how to create a Subtractive Pipe with multiple sections in FreeCAD.
In this tutorial, I show how to remove material along a controlled path while smoothly changing the profile shape.
Commands Used in This Video
1. Subtractive Pipe
The Subtractive Pipe command is used to remove material along a defined path.
👉Action: It sweeps a sketch profile along a trajectory and subtracts that volume from the solid body.
👉Typical Use: Internal channels, curved cutouts, ducts, passages, and complex internal geometry.
2. Multi-Section Subtractive Pipe
Multi-Section allows the Subtractive Pipe to change profile shape along the path.
👉Action: FreeCAD blends multiple section sketches smoothly while sweeping along the same trajectory.
👉Typical Use: Tapered cuts, shape transitions (for example, circular to hexagonal), and controlled material removal.
