Fruit Tree Pruning

Host: Joanna Coles, Warren County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources Guest: Kristin Hildabrand, Warren County Extension Agent for Horticulture Topic: Fruit Tree Pruning & Free Workshop February and March are good months to perform much-needed chores for home fruit trees in Kentucky. During this time, homeowners can see structures much more easily when pruning. By pruning fruit trees during the dormant season, homeowners can maximize sunlight exposure and increase airflow through the tree canopy, helping with disease control. To learn more about fruit tree pruning, the Warren County Extension Office is hosting a fruit tree pruning workshop at Jackson’s Orchard, 1281 Slim Island Road in Bowling Green, KY. The free event will be held on Saturday, March 7th, beginning at 9:00 AM. Please dress for the weather, as the event will be held outdoors.
