Fuel prices in the country are expected to rise sharply in May, despite current supply levels remaining stable.
Special Secretary to the Prime Minister and member of the National Fuel Security Task Force, Sir Dr. Jimmie Rodgers, says prices will likely remain unchanged until the end of April but a significant increase is expected.
In a press conference yesterday, Rodgers says this is due to a sharp rise in global fuel prices, with costs from the Singapore refinery increasing by nearly 60 percent in recent weeks.
