05:30–05:44 → Machine settings
05:45–12:41 → Stitching the binding on the serger
(If you’re short on time, skip right to 05:45 to get started!)
In this tip clip, I walk you through how to attach your binding using your serger with a 4-thread overlock stitch and fusible thread in the lower looper.
Why do I love this technique?
✨ After serging the binding on, you can simply fold it over and press
✨ The fusible thread holds the binding securely in place
✨ It gives you time and control before your final stitching
✨ Perfect for stitch-in-the-ditch, decorative stitches, or even hand stitching
The hold is surprisingly strong—making this a reliable, professional finish using your serger!
Yes, you can attach binding with your serger—and be very successful doing it. This technique makes it easier, cleaner, and more enjoyable.
