When we talk about Fusion 360 where it relates to CAM, we tend to focus on the toolpaths and compare those toolpaths to other CAM systems like Mastercam etc. I presented at a class at the Fusion 360 academy summer 2019 in Portland OR called 'Beyond the chips'. I will be presenting the same class at Autodesk University 2019. The premise of the class is that Fusion 360 has a lot to offer when it comes to CAM beyond just creating toolpaths.
One of the things that Fusion 360 can do really well is to create a parametrically drive intelligent vise that can be created from a dumb step model. This video will walk you through the steps of turning a dumb solid into an intelligent design that will greatly reduce CAM programming time while making you more confident that you will avoid collisions on the machine.
