This lecture from Sandhya Yatirajula forms part of Module 2 of the GACD e-Hub Fundamentals Programme. This is an open access programme intended for early-career researchers interested in improving their knowledge and skills in implementation science.
Lecture key messages:
◾ Co-creation helps to increase ownership of the research and the product
◾ Time taking intensive process - iterative in nature, requires going back and forth - factor in sufficient time to get the final product ready
◾ Co-creation promotes equity and reduce the power imbalances that exist between the researcher and the researched
◾ As facilitators, we need to be cognisant of our power and privileges and ensure that we create an environment of trust to facilitate the participation of vulnerable populations
