Gait Training Activities to Decrease Fall Risk
🚀 Gait Training Activities to Decrease Fall Risk 🚀 ⭐ Gait Training Exercises In Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Improving ambulation and functional mobility are crucial goals for physical therapists and occupational therapists working with older adult patients. Many of our patients want to get back to the ability to walk independently or at least require as little assistance as possible. Just overground gait training with patients, however, is not enough. To provide optimal treatment, therapists must break down the activity and address each component the patient is struggling with to achieve the desired outcomes. We also are usually responsible for helping our patients decide if they would benefit from an assistive device such as a cane or walker. ⭐ Gait Training Exercise Program After we have assessed our patient's gait and determined what most likely is the impairment affecting the gait pattern we can develop a highly individualized treatment plan, not just an ordinary conventional gait training program. Addressing the specific weaknesses and imbalances identified in the assessment helps optimize the exercise program and improves patient outcomes. As an occupational or physical therapist, we want to help facilitate normal movement patterns therefore we have to figure out the root cause of what is hindering our patients. ⭐ Watch the video above for fun and engaging activities to do with your patients to improve ambulation/functional mobility and decrease fall risk! ⭐ 🎥 Subscribe & Turn on Notifications for more patient-centered activities WITH documentation examples @thenoteninjas ⭐ For those PTs, OTs, or assistants ready to streamline treatment planning and documentation, explore our comprehensive resources: 🌟 Learn more about the most comprehensive resource for PTs and OTs: The Note Ninja Membership: https://thenoteninjas.mykajabi.com/me... 🌟 Grab our FREE Skilled Care & Documentation Cheat Sheet for PTs and OTs!
