Today's Patron-sponsored video, for GameMaker Studio 2, is the first of two videos in how to create JRPG-style cutscenes. The entire system is designed with large-scale projects in mind, and once you've seen both parts, you will be able to scale up from 2-3 sequences to as many as you like. In this episode I'll talk about how and why I made the cutscene the way that I did, and then we do a little coding to make overriding objects work. Part 2 will cover everything else. Part 2: https://youtu.be/0Ci64_xBFGs 00:00 - Intro / Presentation of the end product 02:27:50 - Overview - How I made it and the reasons why 05:33:03 - Final Thoughts 06:17:18 - Setup (Sprites/Room) 07:46:24 - Create the actor objects 08:05:49 - Creating a basic sequence using objects 10:37:06 - Making sure the player object ends up wherever the cutscene finishes 15:09:37 - Getting the sequence to run via code, and overriding the sequence objects with our room objects 20:43:25 - The awesome Patrons!
