Gems From The Scriptures - The Comforter
Recently, I recorded a Thought for Today video titled “The God of All Comfort”. And during that study I discovered another Gem from the Scriptures buried in this context. This one I call “The Comforter”. In 2Corinthians chapter 1 verses 3 and 4 Paul writes: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” Another way to translate that verse is as follows: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [for being] the Father of compassions, and the God of all encouragement [parakleseos]. Note that word encouragement. The very one encouraging [parakalon] us with respect to all our affliction which we are going through, does so to enable us to encourage [parakalein] anyone being in any affliction through the very encouragement [parakleseos] by which we are ourselves are encouraged [parakalonumetha] by God. Every where you heard the word comfort or encouragement in these verses is a form of the Greek word paraklesis or parakaleo, one being a noun and the other being a verb. Which means to call to one’s side for the purpose of encouragement, comfort, consolation, exhortation. #biblestudy #gemsfromthescriptures #comfort #godsword #biblicaltruth #biblicalwisdom #thegospel #thechurch #thegodofallcomfort #spiritualwisdom #spiritualjourney #sacredwisdom #love #joy #peace #hope #joy #grace #holyspirit #grace Like and Subscribe to my channel https://youtube.com/@sapman78
