gene cassingle [KCrew CS/KCREW-004/web/2016] https://kcrewcs.bandcamp.com/album/gene-s-t-cassingle we're seeing the start of something really really good. this is GENE. passed the tone-setting clip from fear and loathing in las vegas, you find yourself drowning in fuzzy, quick-fingered picking, relentless riffs, and snotty vocals dripping with reverb. the drums are chaotic and will leave your legs aching if you try to tap along. though from kansas, you won't be a total idiot for comparing the sounds to stuff coming out of NWI. so this is the fourth release coming from the KCrew CS label since they began in mid-march. i first stumbled my way into this killer label when the KOLUMBINE KIDS demo was posted to youtube and i've been hooked ever since. KCrew has since dropped another cassingle, another one from GENE no less (yes it's rad and yes i might upload it soon if someone else hasn't already). keep a close eye on this label and snag a cassette or two while you still can!
