Generative Design in Practice
We bring together leading building modeling experts in Architecture, Engineering, Construction and related industries to provide a platform for discussion of challenges and accomplishments when using models for design, construction and building operations. We will start with a brief 10-minute summary on the topic from respected experts in the field, and then engage in a moderator-led discussion, taking questions from attendees to fuel the conversation. Sofia Malmsten and Erik Forsberg - Parametric Solutions AB Sofia and Erik will be talking about making generative and algorithmic design accessible to more people through a modular approach. What that means is how certain parts of a complex design logic can be split up into parts with lower complexity that can be tailored to specific needs and preferences. A concrete example is how different scripts can be used depending on the detail level required at a specific stage. In the early staged we compare volumes and footprints - while in the later stages we need to solve more specific and detailed challenges. Generative design can be used throughout the whole design process, but in different ways. Sean Fruin - Sigma AEC Solutions The term ‘generative design’ has a loose meaning that encompasses various algorithmic methods like parametric modeling, optioneering, optimization for solving design problems. This presentation will present a range of MEP problems that can utilize these different computational approaches. #AEC #Autodesk #Revit #Generativedesign
