Wood construction is very common in Australia, Canada, and America. Its the practice of using wood as a "Primary" building material to create a wooden frame for a structure.
In this video, we go through the basic wood structure terms that are necessary to get started. We learn the meaning of 2x4 and 2x6 wood timber that is sizes and names. Terms like Oriented Strand Boards (OSB) and O.C. On Centre which you will see in many construction drawings. We will touch on the basics of the layout of the studs. How the wood is connected with nails and patterns, and finally, the hangers, which are commonly marked as Simpson ties in many drawings and books.
