Positivet – Glenmarks Single B-side of “En Liten Sång (Som Alla Andra)” Philips 6015 066, Scandinavia, 1973 Words & music by Anders Glenmark & Bruno Glenmark RIP Karin Glenmark, 1952–2025 “Positivet” is the charming and slightly overlooked B-side to Glenmarks’ 1973 Melodifestivalen entry “En Liten Sång (Som Alla Andra)”. While the A-side marked the group’s participation in the Swedish national selection, this track shows another side of the group – playful, melodic and firmly rooted in the polished pop sound they had developed in the early 1970s. The song was written by Anders Glenmark together with Bruno Glenmark, highlighting the early songwriting ambitions of Anders, who would soon go on to establish himself as one of Sweden’s most successful composers, producers and artists. “Positivet” was also recorded in English under the title “Barrel Organ”, further reflecting Glenmarks’ international outlook during this period. Glenmarks were a Swedish family group consisting of Karin and Anders Glenmark, their aunt Ann-Louise Hanson – already a well-known and established solo artist – and her husband Bruno Glenmark. Together they became one of the most recognizable Swedish pop constellations of the early 1970s. The group participated in Melodifestivalen as Glenmarks in both 1973 and 1974, and later appeared again in 1975 as backing vocalists to Hadar. The family also built their own recording studio in Stocksund, which became an important hub for Swedish pop and schlager productions throughout the decade. Meanwhile, both Karin and Anders continued to develop their individual careers. Anders would go on to a long and highly successful career as a songwriter, producer and solo artist, while the siblings later reunited as the duo Gemini, collaborating with Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus.
