Australia never had a local teleprinter manufacturer so initially we bought British teleprinters due to our ties with that country, but later bought what our Post Office engineers considered the best. Postwar, Teletype, then Siemens for the start of automatic Telex in 1966 then Sagem (France) as they had the first electronic machines.
