Bunny looks at the trees she has planted in her garden (well over a thousand), some 40 years ago, and decides reluctantly, that its best if some go.
Cutting down trees is rarely done without a heavy heart, and because you slowly live with ever increasing shade you often fail to recognise the benefits that could be gained by removing them.
Bunny talks about the main reasons, such as safety, as in the case of the stately Cedar of Lebanon that grew in King Charles’s Highgrove garden. This fine tree was a big factor in buying the house, but the then Prince was persuaded that it had to go and sadly he agreed.
Other reasons, such as shading, affecting building foundations, unsuitable trees, suckering are also discussed.
