GoPro LCD rear screen replacement
GoPro 10 Black LCD replacement. Since GoPro doesn’t have official repair centers and couldn’t find any store that would repair it I had to repair it my self. I ordered the screen from Amazon. I used a Dremel, a rotary tool to make a small hole in one of the corners. The hole needs to cut through the entire material but stop when it gets to the actual camera plastic. Use the dremel at low speed so you have more control. Use a flat tool(s) to unstick the lcd all around from the camera. As soon as you get the chance disconnect the flex cables. Do it slow and take your time to avoid damage. Once the broken LCD is removed remove all the adhesive residue on the camera. Use a small knife or something to remove or scratch. Use a small vacum cleaner, or gas duster can to remove all residue. I used rubbing alcohol to clean all the edges were I removed the dust and adhesive, to make the surface clean. Once everything is clean. From the broken camera remove a little white plastic located on bottom right and place it on the new LCD. Remove the metallic tape on the flex from the broken LCD and put it on the new LCD. Connect the new flex cables, stick the black plastic on the new lcd. Before apply adhesive ensure the new LCD is working. For adhesive I used Loctite which is rated for water. To apply the Loctite adhesive I used a metallic needle 🪡 and placed in the outsided part of the “rail guide” of the camera were the LCD clips on. For the adhesive used the dry / hardening time might vary, the camera will need to be under pressure for the lcd stick to the camera, you might use rubber bands to apply pressure uniformly all around. I used a small rag to protect the camera and carefully placed two 2.5 lbs weights and left it over night. This fix worked for me! You can do it with 20 mins but I took 1 hr to make it perfect. The from beep camera actually worked and I had it turned on.
