Gordon Stoker was the first tenor of the legendary vocal quartet, The Jordanaires. They provided background vocals for countless popular records between 1951 and 2011, including major hits with Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and Ringo Starr. They are the beautiful voices backing Rick Nelson on "Lonesome Town," as well as dozens of his other records.
In this interview from 1987, Gordon remembers meeting Ricky, recalls the Nelson family, reveals what recording the early hits was like, and tells what Elvis thought of Rick. In addition, he has great praise for Bobby Neal, Patrick Woodward, Andy Chapin, and Ricky Intveld.
