Humanities lecture on the origins, spread and legacy of French gothic architecture in the high middle ages. Most pictures are from my own travel and research. Topics include: Abbot Suger of St. Denis, Villard de Honnecourt, the Romanesque precursors to Gothic, and the cathedrals of Notre-Dame in Paris, Laon, Reims, Chartres, Coutances, Salisbury, and Utrecht.
