Jump ahead to... Tassel (0:11) Top of Cap (3:21) Lid (6:35) Bottom (8:39) Pro tip: make your mortar board gift box in any color with any color tassel To make the tassel, you'll need about 70" of yellow embroidery floss (I used DMC 6 Strand Embroidery Cotton). You can make about four or five tassels with one skein. You'll also need a 5x5 square of chipboard (it can be from a cereal box), folded in half. Paper Requirements: You'll need two pieces of black card stock paper. They can be 12x12, or specifically 12 x 9.5" and 12 x 6.5". We recommend textured card stock that's about 80# (thickness). Generally, most card stock will work well, especially Encore Textured Cardstock: https://svgcuts.me/encore-card-stock-paper This design also requires one standard-sized brad - it will be hidden, so it can be any color. Its head should be about a quarter-inch wide.
