In this video I work through problem 2.3 but towards the end I decide to stop at the integral form of the electric field equation for this line charge arrangement and conduct limit analysis to see whether it is possible to extract point like charge behavior from the integral form solutions. And it was possible to do so. Meaning that in some cases we can still evaluate the behavior of integral solutions at some limits to see whether the solution corresponds to a more fundamental limit case solution. Which is how we judge whether a derivation produced a relatively correct equation/model.
