In this video I will solve problem 2.1 as it appears in the thrid edition of griffiths introduction to quantum mechanics. The problem states:
Prove the following theorems:
a) For normalizable solutions, the separation constant E must be real.
b) the wavefunction psi can always be taken to be real
c)If the potential V(x) is an even function, then psi can always be taken to be either even or odd.
