Grinding Unreal Engine 5 C++ Tutorial
Hi! In this video, I’ll show you how to build a third-person grinding system in Unreal Engine 5 using C++. We’ll create a custom Character Movement Component with a dedicated grinding movement mode. We'll also design grindable platforms that contain 1 or more spline components, which will represent grinding paths. In addition, we'll cover essential 3D math topics, such as using quaternions for smooth rotations. We’ll also add visual and sound effects, including sparks under the character’s feet (inspired by Sunset Overdrive). If that sounds interesting, stick around! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Material Github repository: https://github.com/john-isril/GrindingTutorial Assets: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lgs4KYxz9Vm1Aw5y-QI4m-caOJle8GNe/view?usp=sharing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Resources Collision filtering article written by James Golding: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/collision-filtering 3D math book written by Fletcher Dunn & Ian Parbery: https://gamemath.com/ Delegates article by Unreal Garden: https://unreal-garden.com/tutorials/delegates-intro/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-isril/
