This is a simple and easy chemistry experiment you can easily do in your kitchen. All you need to do is heat distilled water to 50C, add your salt of choice until no more will dissolve then let the solution sit for a few days. As temperature decreases, the solubility of solids in water decreases. After the solution cools back to 25C, the salt ions grab onto each other and form beautiful and orderly crystals. This works for any water soluble solid!
