Peer review is a learning activity where students give each other feedback. Peer review is widely used in higher education. And rightly so, because on the basis of a large amount of research it can now be assumed that peer review can support the learning process and increase the quality of the learning results. But this does not happen automatically. In order to effectively apply peer review, it is necessary that the learning activity is properly organized and that a number of conditions must be met. This is not a simple task. Organizing an effective peer review process is complex and requires a well-considered approach in advance. If peer review is not properly organised, it can even have adverse effects. The Teaching, Learning & Technology research group is therefore investigating how peer review can be effectively used in learning processes. In this animation we briefly go through the steps how to design an effective peer review process.
