Hamilton 10 Years Later
Obviously this video came out a little late... but I wanted to make sure the video was the best it could be! It is a piece of art that transcends genre and style. Hamilton is loved by everyone from theatre goers to hiphop enthusiasts. Lin Manuel Miranda's unique interests and culture allows him to create stories with elements that you wouldn't think would ever fit together. But they do! In this video, I talk about the history of the show, from it's first public performance at the White House Poetry reading event in front of Barack and Michelle Obama, to it's 10 year anniversary Tony performance. The music in Hamilton is so inspiring to me. I think it uses the ideas of motifs in such a consistent way throughout the show that by the end of the show, every couple of notes have you crying in your seat thinking about a character or event that happened earlier.
