In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Prince Hamlet is devastated by his father’s death and disturbed by his mother’s quick marriage to his uncle, Claudius. When the ghost of his father reveals that Claudius murdered him, Hamlet vows revenge but becomes consumed by doubt and inner conflict. His feigned madness, real sorrow, and growing paranoia lead to a tragic chain of events, including the deaths of Ophelia, Polonius, and others. The play ends in a bloody climax where Hamlet kills Claudius but dies himself, along with most of the royal court.
