Coach Jessica Estrada is bringing you a new gymnastic series focusing on handstand pushups and handstand walking. In the first installment, Coach Jess covers the prerequisites athletes need to have mastered before attempting the more complicated skills (handstand pushups and walking). Mechanically perfect push ups, headstands, a controlled kick up to handstand, handstand holds against a wall, and negative handstand push ups (safely lowering yourself from a handstand to the tripod position) are all basic skills that contribute to a solid foundation for learning handstand push ups and walking.
