Happy Birthday Son

My dad was a special man - truly. Together with my Mom, I believe I was given the best chance at being a decent human being. I never realised it as a child, adolescent and young man. It's only over the last 10 - 15 years and moreover over the last several years since both have passed away that I've begun to reflect on just how lucky I was. This song was based on a video my dad recorded shortly before he passed away in a nursing home. In it he made reference to having a drink on him and buying it myself and his Croaky throat brought on by the cat. I often look at that video and I decided I wanted more. I tried to imagine what my dad would say to me if he could from beyond. I think I've gotten pretty good reflection of exactly what he would have said. He was nothing if not predictable.
