While it can be easy to pigeon hole the Harmonic Oscillator into the realm of generating only “pretty” sounds, in this video, we wanted to focus on the more aggressive/dark side of the module.
In this patch, the triangle wave of the modulation oscillator within the Complex Oscillator was sent to the Harmonic Oscillators “F.M. input”.
As the patch progresses and new harmonics are introduced, the sound becomes enriched with complex overtones reminiscent of bells clanging or something tube-like - raw additive synthesis in its most rudimentary form.
