Hawthorne de duobus (Dance Tutorial)
Hawthorne de duobus (Dance Tutorial) Tutor: Lynne Spicer We’re excited to bring you a dance from The “Gresley” manuscript. The dance today is “Hawthorne de duobus” and our tutor is Lynne Spicer of Grantham Danseyre. Lynne has kindly consented to the Historical Dance Society using the Zoom recording of her tutorial with her group. “The ‘Gresley’ manuscript is a small notebook written by John Banys belonging to the Gresley of Drakelow family papers and held in the Derbyshire Record Office of Matlock”. (Cherwell Thy Wyne by Ann and Paul Kent, 2013). The manuscript indexes 92 dances of which only 26 have choreographies.
