The Kiryuus were renown hunters—this is a common fact, just as the Kurans are renown purebloods. Zero Kiryuu (an only child in this vid, random fact) was trained to kill rogue vampires. But, due to his parents fame, he was often brought into the world of vampires (like the council, the aristocrats, lala). There, he met Kuran Kaname, a boy not much older than him—or so it appeared. Because, as we all know, Rido resurrected *the* Kuran ancestor into Kanames body. Rido wants power—with his betrothed, the Mad Pureblood Princess Shizuka Hio, he believes he can get it. But Kaname is powerful and stubborn, a bit too much for Ridos comfort) Zero finds himself sickly drawn to Kaname. The boy is beautiful and cold—and Zero can sense there is feeling and heart beneath his cool exterior—and there is. Kaname and Zero become very close friends. Rido sees this--and he sees a weakness. To break Kaname, all he has to do is damage his best friend: Zero. Shizuka and Rido both want to bring down Kaname (for power). After the Kiryuus killed Shizukas (on-the-side) lover, she is more then happy to attack Zero, to hurt both the boy and the pureblood vampire. Finally, I get to points that I actually show in the video. ^^once again, this is all background information. So onto the main event (the following is show in a b&w flashback in the video): Rido and Shizuka approach the Kiryuus house. Zero senses them before his parents and steps outside. There, he sees Shizuka, who swoops down on him and pulls him away from the house. Kaname had been in the house somewhere else (idk, tis convenient for the storyline:)) but he senses the purebloods soon after Zero. He opens the door to see Shizuka holding Zero. He knows what they are trying to do, and he cannot let it happen. Zero is his best friend, and maybe even more? Kaname runs from the door toward where the pair is, only to be pulled back by Rido. Before another thought can enter Kanames mind, Shizukas teeth sink into Zero. The unforgivable had been done. Kaname kills Shizuka immediately (not shown but she poofs away magically so lol x)), but Rido is Kanames master, and hes unable to kill him. All he can do is severely wound him, forced to bide his time until someone else is strong enough to kill Rido for him. The years pass--the relationship between Kaname and Zero has been severely damaged. They are broken—Kaname is ridden with guilt (he couldnt save Zero in time), and natural pureblood instinct causes him to try and hide his pain through coldness and cruelty, when in reality, seeing Zero suffering pains him more than anything. Zero is filled with anger and hatred, at himself, at Kaname, at Rido; sometimes he doesnt know who. To save Zero from becoming a Level E, Kaname continues gives Zero his blood. Zero is less than obliged to take it because drinking blood only makes him more monster-like than he already is. And then, the moment finally comes when Kaname knows *Zero* is strong enough to kill Rido. He makes it possible for Rido to go back into his body, and Zero kills Rido (very dramatic, I know.) So then Rido is finished—Zero and Kaname can finally see each other again, for the first time since Zero was changed. Their relationship can progress again. Slowly, with hardships, but it would happen. Note the order of events that happen in the video: First I show how the relationship is *presently* for Zero and Kaname. Strained and tense. Other vampires (like Aidou) know of the relationship. Kaname's cruelty to cover his hurt and guilt is shown. And then the flashback, revealing what happened years ago shows, amid the present happenings of Kaname and Zero preparing to kill Rido. And then the old relationship regains brighter life. Da end.
