Hearing

The Bible refers to “hearing” (hear, heareth, heard) as believing scriptures; not related to being deaf. “Hearing” refers to one’s spirit understanding the Word of God; which is about His Son (Psa 40:7 & Heb 10:7) and His will, written by the Holy Spirit. (2nd Pet 1:20-21) ————————————————————————————— Q: Doesn’t Our Father “hear” everything from everyone? A: NO 1. Our Father does not allow sin at His throne, therefore a person must be doing His will; which includes getting prior forgiveness of sins. 2. Our Father “hears” His worshippers and does not “hear” the prayer of those who have not had their sins forgiven. ————————————————————————————— John 9:31 “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” - Proverbs 15:29 “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” ————————————————————————————— ** Doing His will gives us confidence that Our Father “hears” our prayers - 1st John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” - 1st John 5:15 “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” ————————————————————————————— * What about us teaching Bible and the listener does not want to “hear”? - Luke 10:16 “He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.” - 1st John 4:5 “They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.” - 1st John 4:6 “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.
