Hellraiser Behind the Scenes

We’re going behind the scenes of “Hellraiser” to get all the juicy details of what brought this reimagination of the 1987 classic to life. Produced by Paramount pictures and starring Jamie Clayton, this movie already has a powerhouse of a team behind it. Clive Barker, the original director of “Hellraiser,” gave all of his blessings to the cast and crew recreating the film. He didn’t think it should be a remake of his movie, he thought it should be a completely fresh depiction of the classic characters people already know and love. The idea behind bringing a woman on as Pinhead was so they could release the burden from the audience of comparing the performances. Jamie Clayton spent so many hours a day in the make up chair transforming into everyone’s favorite Cenobite. She had never worn prosthetics before, so this was all a completely new experience. One thing she really struggled with was how restrictive the Pinhead costume was – she could hardly move in the thing! And the black contacts she was wearing made it impossible for her to see what was going on in front of her – she often needed help walking from her castmates. All of the cenobites really struggled being in costume all the time in the Serbian weather. During the day it was often too hot and at night it was often way too cold.
