High Frequency Words Test / Sight Words Test (Color-Coded)

The English language contains numerous words that are difficult to sound out with just individual letter-sound knowledge alone. These are words that readers must memorize or "learn by sight." To test your knowledge of these common high-frequency words, try to read the words on the screen before the voice from the video does. If your pronunciation matches the voice from the video, you got it correct. Please note that the speaker from the video speaks with an American accent (region: Southern California). Why are the word cards different colors? I use these cards with my own students and introduce a new set of words each week. The color-coding indicates which set of words we are on. If you are using this video as a self-assessment tool and want to study the words gradually over time, you can use the color-coding to help you remember approximately where you left off.
