In Singapore Secondary School Math, Prime Factorisation is a basic but essential task students are encountering when dealing with questions involving HCF and LCM. Usually, for questions involving HCF and LCM, students are not allowed to use a calculator. To solve questions on HCF and LCM using Prime Factorisation, students need to have a solid foundation (pre-requisite) in Primary School (P4) Math on Factors and Multiples. In this video, students are taught how to extend their P4 knowledge on Factors and Multiples to tackle questions on HCF and LCM using Prime Factorisation.
