The strength of your hip abductors and hip external rotators are very important in assisting you with stabilization of your pelvis and in improving your overall ability to maintain your balance.
Your hip muscles help in stabilizing you when performing dynamic activities such as walking, running, climbing stairs and lifting or carrying items around your house or on the job.
If your hip and core muscles are not strong enough, this leads to poor balance and an increase in episodes of falls.
This side lying hip abduction exercise is a great way to assist in strengthening and isolating these muscles.
