A 'holloway' is a sunken path at the edge of a field. They have been used for centuries, and in places with soft soil the paths have been worn deep into the ground. The most famous is the holloway formed by Hell Lane and Shute's Lane in Dorset.
The inspiration for the words and graphics is the prose-poem "Holloway" by Robert McFarlane, Stanley Donwood and Dan Richards.
