Ibbetson's geometric chuck from Holtzapffel No. 1636 Rose Engine set up for ornamental turning with a drilling frame. The chuck came as original equipment and was made in 1838. It functions today as well as it did new and finds itself in regular use a The Plumier Foundation. It is, in effect, a gentleman's Spirograph.
