Home Energy Audit - Weatherization Program
This video shares highlights of a home energy audit by Heidi Johnson, the Weatherization Program Supervisor for Washtenaw County. The Weatherization Assistance Program provides free weatherization services to qualified Washtenaw County residents. The program is implemented through Washtenaw County in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is designed to help residents lower their utility bills. We perform a free energy audit and based on the results of that audit, we provide eligible repairs on the home for free. Homeowners and renters that meet the eligibility requirements are welcome to apply. https://www.washtenaw.org/773/Home-Weatherization-Program Free home improvements could include: • Insulation of attics, walls, and crawl-spaces • Air sealing work such as foam gaps in gaps and holes in attics and foundations • Replacements or repairs of inefficient furnaces, hot water heaters, and refrigerators • Fresh air bath fan Chapters: 00:00 Intro & Outside Assessing 00:27 Basement (furnace, water heater, insulation, ducts) 01:15 Attic (insulation, air gaps) 01:43 Main Floor (thermostat, smoke detectors) 02:12 Windows 02:41 Bathroom (fan) 02:59 Laundry and Kitchen (venting, carbon monoxide, air quality) 03:23 Blower Door Test 03:56 Conclusion _____________________ Featuring: Heidi Johnson Directing: Donald Harrison Camera & Audio: Toko Shiiki & Donald Harrison Editing: David Meiklejohn Produced by: 7 Cylinder Studio [https://www.7cylinders.com/] Special Thanks: Tim Monger [https://www.timothymonger.com/]
