HonCC's Fashion Technology Program

Looking to gain the expertise needed to break into the highly dynamic, exciting, and growing fashion industry? This program is “designed” to give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in the field of fashion tech. In HonCC’s Fashion Technology (FT) program, you’ll learn the basics of clothing construction, industrial sewing, pattern making, textiles, textile art, fashion sketching and design, computerized grading, and marker making. You’ll learn through both instructional theory and hands-on practical projects. Then, once you’ve mastered the fashion design and production techniques, you’ll advance master the high-tech equipment and software used in developing patterns. This is the only Fashion Technology program of its kind on O‘ahu. Many of Hawai‘i’s top fashion designers were once students in this program. The Fashion Technology program also hosts an annual Fashion Show, where you’ll have an opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity. This highly-anticipated catwalk event is attended by industry professionals and the media.
