Hot cross buns are a favorite in the Easter season and normally marks the end of the Lenten season here in Trinidad. These buns are semi sweet with spices, currants and raisins. I have put together this recipe for you. (I accidentally deleted this video so I am reposting it)

BUNS:
4 cups flour
1/3 cup white sugar
3 tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
I/4 tsp nutmeg
zest of 1 orange
juice of 1 orange
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup water
1 egg (room temp)
4 tbsp. butter (melted and cooled)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup sultanas
1/8 cup mixed peel
GLAZE
1/8 cup water
1/4 cup white sugar
CROSS
2 tsp water
1/2 cup icing sugar
