I bought some hot pepper cheese spread from a cheese store. It was made with hot pepper raspberry jelly which costs $9 a jar. So, I decided to try to make my own. It doesn't' have the heat up front like the one I bought but it does have heat that hits you when you swallow. I bought the red pepper powder at an Asian store and it has a kick to it. It was only a couple dollars for a big package of it. I ate it with whole wheat crackers.
Ingredients:
1 8 oz block of cream cheese
1/4 cup of raspberry jam or jelly
8 tsp red pepper powder
Directions:
Place the cream cheese, jelly/jam, and red pepper powder in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Scrape down the sides and blend again.
Serve with crackers or chips.
