In late February of 2026, the University of Hawaii Cancer Center had finally released a public notice about an attack that had happened nearly 6 months prior, in August of 2025. This is important to note because there was a lot of backlash about the months between finding out about the breach, to actually notifying people. Inside this breach, over 1.2 million people were affected, with files holding highly sensitive health data, as well as SSNs and drivers license records
