Let's Talk About Ep. 22: How Cobra Kai Ends | Nerd Talk In the summer of 1984 the classic Karate Kid released to acclaim. After 34 years a sequel series called Cobra Kai was made for YouTube Red and now has finally taken its place on Netflix. Just like its parent series, Cobra Kai has been met with popular and critical acclaim thanks to a great premise, showrunners who respect the property of the Karate Kid, and a cast both old and new. Cobra Kai takes place 34 years after the first movie ends and gives us Johnny Lawrence, the Cobra Kai antagonist from the Karate Kid. After losing to Daniel LaRusso, the titular karate kid, Johnny left Cobra Kai and for 34 years has wasted his life. However, he decides to reopen the defunct Cobra Kai dojo and raise a new generation of badass Cobra Kai karate practictioners. Season 1 shows us Johnny's journey to rebuild Cobra Kai as well as the reignition of his rival Daniel. It ends with Johnny's Cobra Kai winning the All Valley Karate Tournament and reclaiming the title it lost in 1984 against Mr. Miyagi and his student. Season 2 brings us the return of the former leader of Cobra Kai, Krease and the growing tensions and conflicts between the students of Johnny's Cobra Kai and Daniel's Miyagi-do. This comes to a head and ends in tragedy. After two drama filled season and the heart wrenching way season 2 ends, Nerd Talk thinks he has a Cobra Kai theory about how Cobra Kai will end. Update: Cobra Kai Season 3 has proven Nerd Talk's Cobra Kai theory almost spot on. So while this video is a bit outdated, it's a great primer before watching Cobra Kai season 3 or as an explanation of Cobra Kai season 3's ending.
