The A/C has two air cycles: the room air cycle and the hot air cycle
The room air cycle has the evaporator, where the refrigerant evaporates and cools down. The hot air cycle has the condenser, where the hot and compressed refrigerant cooled down by the outside air.
The compressor is compressing the refrigerant, which creates a lot of heat.
