How does the Bionic Reading app work, if at all? Can it speed up reading? Can it also benefit comprehension and help those with dyslexia? The app's claims are bold, but the explanations have been lacking so far. This is a quick attempt to explain some mechanisms which may contribute to the effect of the app, along with highlighting some potential dangers based on similar approaches in the past.
