#How does the Emergency shut down system work? The ESD system is to automatically isolate all emergency related systems on board our LNG Carrier into a safe state in case of an emergency. The ESD is capable of being manually or automatically initiated responding to the ESD conditions by shutting down cargo transfer and isolating cargo tanks in a surge-free way. This system is designed to meet the fail safe requirements. There are various emergency cases and these are as follows: Fire on board, Unsafe of Cargo Tank (Extremely High) and the Manual Shutdown. On this video we are demonstrating the Fiber Optic and Pneumatic ESD system the Electrical was not demonstrated.
