I show you how to fix a broken table saw where the motor shaft key has sheared. The unthinkable happened!! My table saw died. I was part way through a project and it started sounding weird. Next thing I knew, all drive to the blade was lost!! With minimal, and probably incorrect tools I gave it a new lease of life. First I took the motor drive wheel out, to check if the drive shaft and wheel were still connected, they were not! The shaft key had sheared. Luckily it wasn’t something more serious. Using an old worn out flat wood drill, an angle grinder with a cutoff disc, and my bench tip sander, I fashioned a new shaft key. With some refining, I eventually got the perfect fit, put it all back together and, with crossed fingers, hit the start button. It worked! Phew!! Hopefully it wont happen again!!
