How H&K PSG1 work
Heckler & Koch PSG1 (Präzisionsschützengewehr, German for "precision marksman rifle") is a semi-automatic sniper rifle designed and produced by the German company Heckler & Koch. PSG1 was developed in response to the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. West German police units lacked the precision shooting capability to effectively neutralize the terrorists, leading to the commissioning of a high-accuracy, large-magazine capacity, semi-automatic rifle for law enforcement and military use. mechanically based on the Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle, employing a roller-delayed blowback operating system. It features a strengthened receiver, a low-noise bolt closing device, and a Hensoldt ZF 6×42 PSG1 telescopic sight with an illuminated reticle. Production began in 1972 and continued until 2014.
