How I make a CANJO
You probably will never see one of these canjos on a world tour, but these interactive pieces of art are for more intimate settings, such as a morning out on a back porch swing with a cup of coffee before the world wakes up, or at the end of a day when a crackling campfire and a song just seems appropriate. Frank Zappa said, “music is best”, and I whole-heartedly agree with that sentiment. Music has the therapeutic power to heal, enlighten, and transfer you to a place that no other humanistic endeavor can. It is remarkably satisfying to put one of these on your lap and pluck one of your favorite tunes, and when you’re done, you can return it to a place of prominence among your other pieces of art. My inspiration for making these instruments came from the “Jenks” Building and all of the local brilliant musicians who come to play for us. I’m having fun making these (thank you), and as any artist will tell you, it don’t get any better than that. Thanks, Chuck Slonaker #jenks1929 #jenksbuilding #jenks #jenkscuyahogafalls #chuckslonaker
